[Bring baby Scarpelli home!]

Posted by Amanda Roo on 5:06 PM
I want to help out a friend of mine who is adopting a child from Ethiopia. Being that I myself might look toward adoption as an option if in my future I can not have children I feel for her and hope that she gets the child she's always wanted.

If you can please help my friend Rachel out! I just bought the love t-shirt :) Rachel and I used to be roommates when we both worked for Disneyworld. She's an awesome woman who has played some face characters in the parks such as Mary Poppins.

We are selling these awesome shirts to raise money for the purchase of much needed items at our future baby's orphanage, Hannah's Hope. Proceeds will help purchase things like formula, medicine and diapers, which we will hand deliver when we travel to Ethiopia. Check them out online at

[Blonde's have more fun?]

Posted by Amanda Roo on 2:46 AM
I'm up and awake right now at 2:30 in the morning because I took one really long nap during the day. First, I slept in and got up about 10:30am and then later on I took a nap from about two in the afternoon till right before Joseph walked in the door after work after 6pm!! I just find that the weekends are days to catch up on my sleep. I could sleep all day if I wanted or could. In fact, I take naps usually ever day after work for one to two hours. What can I say, I love my sleeps.

Guess what arrived in the mail yesterday? My awesome blonde wig (the Britney wig) that I purchased through eBay. Yeah, I was so sad it didn't arrive in time for Halloween and had to purchase this cheap, ugly wig at Walgreens when we were on our trip. This wig is SO much nicer and would have looked so much better with my costume but what can you do?

What did I do? I wore the wig all day Friday because durn it I paid for it and i'm gonna get use out of it! Here's my over the shoulder look.

AH-Mazing!

Tomorrow I have, let's see, homework AND cleaning to do. Seems this is what I have to do every day. *LE SIGH* Can it be winter break already??

[Weekend Trip Recap]

Posted by Amanda Roo on 4:12 PM
Reflecting on our year of marriage I have to say how incredibly lucky I feel. I couldn't have asked for a more caring, understanding, affectionate, doting, loving husband. Our first year of marriage has been amazing and I can't wait for the years to come.

Our anniversary vacation consisted of food, food, friends and family. Which is why we've dubbed this the vacation of food because our favorite thing to say was "Where are we eating next?" We ate some New Mexican cuisine from La Hacienda in Old Town, at Tucanos a Brazilian steakhouse, Mongolian stir fry at Genghis Grill, wood oven pizza from IL Vicino, and breakfast at Le Peep.

Besides the food we did a bit of shopping and hit a couple comic book shops. Lobo Anime & Comics and Astro Zombie are the one's we managed to see though my step brother, who is also a comic book kind of guy, informed us of a few other's we'll have to stop by when we return.

Halloween was fun. We attended two parties. One was more laid back than the other but we had fun at both nonetheless. It was really good seeing some old friends.

After coming back home we sampled a bit of our wedding cake that we kept in my mom's freezer. It smelled like freezer burn really badly and tasted a bit stale. We only managed two small bites a piece before giving the rest to my mom as she's a cake crazy person.

Our wedding cake. Smells like freezer burn BAD!

Plus, here's my wedding song. The wedding party and I walked down the isle to Only Hope by Mandy Moore from the movie A Walk to Remember. I listened to it today and it made me cry. Funny because I was for SURE I would be bawling walking down the isle but I didn't cry once during the ceremony.

HAPPY 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY BABE!

[Packed Week]

Posted by Amanda Roo on 10:56 PM
We had a nice dinner at my mom's house tonight. We haven't gotten together to eat in a while so my mom invited us over and she cooked a yummy meal of brisket, mashed potatoes, and this chipotle corn soup. It was my mom and I, Joseph and my stepdad, and my cousin Adam was there. After eating the girls cleaned up and the boys sat and drank beer at the table and talked. I always find it real nice when Joseph gets to bond with my male family members. He's always busy with work so he misses out on a lot of family functions.

My mom and I disappeared into the bedroom for a while and when we came out they were still talking but I noticed that Joseph wasn't contributing much. I pulled him aside and asked if he was okay and if he was read to leave. He said that he was okay, that they were talking but that the subject was growing beards and since he can't grow one he had no input! LOL

This week is super busy for me. I know Joseph wants it to go by fast because he's on his vacation but I want it to go by quickly. Tomorrow I have class in the evening plus a section due in another class. Wednesday I have a classroom evaluation for an hour and Thursday is my political science test plus tutoring at the University. Then, of course, Friday we leave. Busy, Busy, Busy!

[Last week of October]

Posted by Amanda Roo on 10:55 AM
It's already the end of October. What a fast month it's been! There are a lot of thing's i'm looking forward too. Thing's to celebrate and of course the holiday's.

The Hubbs is off of work this week. He took his vacation before the holidays started and for our anniversary which is on November 1st. Almost here!! One more week!! We leave on Friday for Albuquerque and we have the whole thing planned out.

Friday:
I get out of work at 2:30 and so I will be going straight home to pick up Joseph then we will head to my mom's to drop off Elliott and hopefully leave by 3pm. Drive is 4 hours but we also lose an hour which is good so we should get into ABQ around 6pm.

Heading in we will stop at my favorite fast food place Bob's Burgers. After eating up we'll head to our hotel and get settled. Probably will call my stepsister up and go and visit her and the nephew then go back to the hotel and settle in for the night.

Saturday:
Sleeping in sounds good. Swim in the pool?? :) Lunch will be at Tucanos Brazilian Grill which is our anniversary meal. We're both really looking forward to this. Joseph wants me to take him to some comic book and memorabilia shops and I allowed him two lol Dinner will be in Old Town at this one restaurant that we both don't remember the name of. Honestly the only reason why we're eating there is because Joseph said he had a dream about that place once when he was little. It is his "dream restaurant" so we have to experience it. That evening is the Halloween party at an ex-coworkers of mine.

Sunday
November 1st is our anniversary and the last day of our hotel stay. We might stay an extra night at my stepsisters. We're just going to play it by ear. I believe I do want to eat at Sadie's before we leave and maybe Bob's Burgers again haha

Okay, so i've been posting a bit of my costume here and there and i'll reveal what it is now. I have everything I need except my wig which i'm concerned won't make it in time. Let's hope that it does!!

My Halloween costume is..

Britney Spears in her Circus video. I'm a Ring Leader

I'll have to take a photo of me in my outfit and post it. I have: Black blazer jacket, white camisole, sequined bottoms, fishnet stalkings, boots, earrings, necklace, top hat, & whip. I love dressing up!
